K-5 Report Card Changes

In an effort to address parent concerns with standards-based report cards and simplify grading procedures for the 2020-2021 school year, FCS will be shifting to a traditional grading format for all of our kindergarten through fifth grade students. All first through fifth grade students will receive a score on a traditional 100-point scale. Kindergarten students will return to a traditional report card that tracks the skills necessary to be successful in first grade.

Teachers will continue to communicate how students are progressing on standards mastery at appropriate times throughout the year and we will make every effort to inform parents of student progress towards promotion to the next grade. As always, parents can contact their child’s teacher via email and PowerSchool Parent Portal is available for parents to view student assignments, grades, and attendance at any time. Please contact your child’s school if you have trouble logging in.
