Pepperell High School Receives $6,500 Grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety
In an effort to involve Georgia students in reducing traffic crashes, injuries and deaths of teen drivers, Pepperell High School in Rome, Georgia is proud to announce their receipt of a $6,500 Students Against Destructive Decisions grant from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety.

All four Floyd County high schools were among a select group of high schools across the state honored by State School Superintendent Richard Woods as he announced the 2021 Advanced Placement (AP) Honor Schools.

Floyd County Schools is now accepting applications for our virtual academy for next school year through March 19th. Floyd Virtual Academy will be available to students in grades 8-12 for the 2021-2022 school year.

Model High Senior to Present at the 2021 Georgia Junior Science & Humanities Symposium
Kendell Pewitt, from Model High School, is one of the 45 students selected from the state of Georgia to attend the virtual Georgia Junior Science & Humanities Symposium (GJSHS) as a presenter who will participate in the oral presentation competition February 28 - March 2, 2021.

Sixth Grade Student Wins Floyd County Schools’ 2021 Gifted Oratorical Contest
Avi Singh, a sixth-grade student at Model Middle School, has won the 2021 Floyd County Schools Gifted Oratorical Contest. The oratorical event was started in 2009 to allow gifted students to display their academic skills and connect with other students. The 2021 contest was the 12th annual competition and used the speech theme “Healing the World with Optimism”.
