Floyd County Schools Announces New Principal of Armuchee High School
As the outgoing principal of Armuchee High School (AHS), Dr. John Rhoadarmer, officially takes on his new position as principal/CEO of the Floyd County College and Career Academy this upcoming summer, Superintendent Dr. Glenn White has appointed Mr. Joseph Pethel Principal of AHS, effective July 1, 2022. Mr. Pethel has served as principal of Coosa Middle School (CMS) since Fall 2019.

Floyd County Schools Announces New Principal/CEO of College and Career Academy
Effective July 1, 2022, Dr. John Rhodarmer will be the new face leading the way at the Floyd County College and Career Academy (CCA). Currently, he serves as principal at Armuchee High School (AHS) and has been with Floyd County Schools (FCS) for 14 years, eight of those years as an administrator.

FCS Names New Executive Director of Facilities
John Worsham has been named the Executive Director of Facilities for Floyd County Schools (FCS). He will be responsible for the overall supervision of the construction and maintenance of school system facilities. Worsham brings more than 27 years of experience and strengths in the field of facilities management to FCS.

Model High Senior Named Candidate in U.S. Presidential Scholars Program
Liam Marshall, a graduating senior at Model High School, has been named one of more than 5,000 candidates in the 2022 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program. The candidates were selected from nearly 3.6 million students expected to graduate from U.S. high schools in the year 2022. This is the third consecutive year Model High School has had a student selected as a candidate for this prestigious honor.

Floyd County Schools Pre-K Online Applications for 2022-2023 School Year Opening Soon!
Pre-K Applications will be available on the district website homepage beginning Tuesday, February 1, 2022. To participate in the lottery drawing for Pre-K, online applications must be completed by Friday, February 11, 2022, at 3 p.m.
