  • Six Floyd County students advance to state semifinals in the Governor’s Honors Program

    Six juniors from Floyd County high schools have advanced to the semifinals in the Governor’s Honors Program (GHP). The Governor’s Office of Student Achievement indicated that over 3,200 students were nominated to the state level GHP competition and nearly 1,700 of them have been selected as semifinalists for state interviews/auditions. The state interviews will be held at Berry College on February 23, 2019.

  • Sixth Grade Student Wins Floyd County Schools’ 2019 Gifted Oratorical Contest

    Sara Grace Abernathy, a sixth-grade student at Model Middle School, has won the 2019 Floyd County Schools Gifted Oratorical Contest. The oratorical event was started in 2009 to allow gifted students to display their academic skill and connect with other students. The 2019 contest was the 10th annual competition and used the speech theme "Is there a fine line between optimism and reality?".

  • Project SEARCH Team Receives Redmond Pulse Award

    Floyd County Schools’ Project SEARCH team received the Redmond Department Pulse Award for January! The Pulse Award is given to departments who exemplify the mission and values that are held at Redmond. Departments are recognized who go above and beyond, helping to create the best atmosphere for patients and visitors. We are incredibly proud of these awesome students!!

  • Floyd County Schools’ 2019 Art Show Displays the Creativity of K-12 Students

    Plan now to visit the 2019 District Art Show to see a display of art created by Floyd County student artists from kindergarten through 12th grade. The creativity, communication, collaboration and critical thinking skills learned and applied in art classrooms throughout Floyd County Schools will be on display by attendance area, changing every other Thursday, from January 7 through February 28.
