    Hello Students, Parents, Coosa Community, Alumni, and Guests!

    It’s a GREAT day to be a COOSA EAGLE, and it is indeed an honor to be the principal of COOSA HIGH SCHOOL!  Here at Coosa High School we are committed to “Nothing Less Than EXCELLENCE!” Attain SUCCESS “earn you wings to fly high.” We encourage our students to live out their EXCELLENCE and to develop a passion for EXCELLENCE over mediocrity, in all things - academics, activities, athletics and the arts. We also encourage all students to develop academic courage - to be tenacious in their studies, to develop a strong daily work ethic, and to be the best YOU they can be. 

    The faculty and staff are committed to providing students with an enriching and challenging experience while in high school - an experience that will prepare them for the many opportunities that await them post high school graduation.   As the principal of Coosa High School please join me in promoting and expecting EXCELLENCE / SUCCESS for all Coosa stakeholders.

Mr. Judson Cox

Mr. Judson Cox  principal at Coosa High School.

Mr. Cox graduated from Model High School.  In 2002, he received his Bachelor of Science degree from Jacksonville State University in Interrelated Special Education.  He earned his Masters of Education degree from Walden University in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment and his Educational Specialist degree from Lincoln Memorial University in Educational Leadership.

He has been a part of the Floyd County Schools for 20 years.  He has taught special education at Armuchee Middle, Coosa High, and Pepperell High.  He has previously coached basketball  and football at Coosa High and Pepperell High .  He is very pleased to be here to continue to serve the Coosa community!

Mrs. Kristen Martin

As a new member of the Floyd County School System, Mrs. Martin is thrilled to be joining the excellent team here at Coosa High School!  She spent the first part of her career serving the Bartow area as a math teacher at Adairsville High School (11 years), Assistant Principal at Clear Creek Elementary School (2 years), and Assistant Principal at Cass High School (4 years).  The transition to Eagle Nation has been seamless, and Mrs. Martin is honored to have received such a warm welcome in the Coosa community. 
 
Mrs. Martin grew up just down the road in Bartow County and is a proud member of the very first graduating class of Woodland High School.  She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Mathematics from Shorter College before pursuing both a Masters (Math Ed.) and a Specialist (Teaching & Learning) from Piedmont College, followed by an additional Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Berry College.  Mrs. Martin and her husband Matt are the proud parents of two sons who both attend Cass High: Tyler (senior, age 17) and AJ (sophomore, age 15).

Dr. Miriam McGhee

Dr. McGhee is proud to have spent 25 of her 36 years as an educator with Floyd County Schools.  As a middle and high school teacher in the Coosa, Model and Armuchee schools, she has also coached cheerleading, sponsored clubs and student council, and published yearbooks.  2022 will mark her 8th year in administration at CHS. Miriam grew up in Houston, Texas, and graduated from college with a BA in English and math education from Louisiana Monroe University, formerly Northeast Louisiana University. Additional degrees earned include a Masters of Ed. in math and science, an Ed. Specialist in School Leadership from Berry College, and finally an Ed. Doctorate in Leadership from Walden University.

Dr. McGhee is happily married to Dwayne MCGhee, a retired lineman for Georgia Power.  Their blended family includes four adult children: Jeff Langley (Orlando, FL), Shari (husband - Tyler) Wilson (Greenville, SC), Coley McGhee (Carrolton, GA), and Sam Langley (Orlando, FL).
