• Title I is a component of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, aimed at providing federal funding through the Georgia Department of Education to local educational agencies (LEAs) and public schools with a significant population of economically disadvantaged students. Its purpose is to help ensure that all students can meet the challenging academic standards set by the state. This program uses funds to offer students extra academic support, additional assistance from paraprofessionals, supplementary instructional materials, and initiatives to involve parents, all of which contribute to Title I Schoolwide Improvement Plans.
