What We Do
-
The School Operations Division focuses on the creation, implementation, and maintenance of system-wide resources and services which best serve to strengthen the education of all students of the Floyd County School system. Our goal is to provide proper nutrition, safe transportation, well-constructed and maintained facilities, state-of-the-art technology, and a safe environment conducive to learning. We strive to provide the support to our principals, teachers, students, and parents required to ensure the school system operates problem-free.
The Operations Department Division will:
-
Assist the Superintendent in the task of providing resources which develop, archive, and maintain the best possible facilities for our educational programs and services;
-
Review and interpret all laws, regulations, statues, policies and rules affecting the Floyd County School system;
-
Support the Superintendent in the continuous review and revision of operational goals and objectives, and efforts to measure progress toward their attainment;
-
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with community and state agencies, area businesses, industries and other organizations;
-
Direct, plan, guide, and monitor the performance of components in conformance with recent operational initiatives, plan schedules and budgets; work directly with administrators in the execution of their specific responsibilities;
-
Coordinate activities that support student involvement.
