15 of Floyd County Schools (FCS) top students were selected to advance in the Governor's Honors Program (GHP) selection process! GHP is a four-week summer instructional program designed to provide intellectually gifted and artistically talented high school students with challenging and enriching educational opportunities not usually available during the regular school year.
Floyd County Schools’ four-year graduation rate for the Class of 2021 of 94.1% ranks FCS in the top 25% of school systems in the state, according to data released today by the Georgia Department of Education. This rate also exceeds the State’s four-year rate of 83.7%.
Floyd County Schools (FCS) Class of 2021 increased average ACT scores and were competitive with National and State scores! The Class scored an exceptional 21.5 average, increasing from 20.6 in 2020, and topping the Nation’s 20.3 average on the competitive college entrance and placement examination.
Spencer, a Model High School senior, was recently recognized as a finalist and winner at the 14th Annual Business and Education Summit hosted by the Lt. Governor on October 5, in LaGrange, Georgia. He was awarded a $500 scholarship courtesy of the Georgia Energy and Industrial Construction Consortium and presented with a plaque for his outstanding accomplishments.
