2008 Seniors End-of-the-Year Events


Monday, May 12th:

  • FCS System: (7:00 p.m.) - Floyd County Schools Dance Recital at the Rome City Auditorium. Students enrolled in dance class at the four Floyd County High Schools will present their annual recital. The recital is free and open to the public.
  • Armuchee Elementary: (6:00 p.m.) - The 3rd grade will perform a musical, sponsored by the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), and will be presented at the Armuchee High.
  • Armuchee Middle: Accelerated Readers Luncheon at the Longhorns Steak House
    (5:30 p.m.) -Booster Club Meeting in the school California.
  • Glenwood Primary: (8:30- 2:30 p.m.) - GED classes will be held at Glenwood Primary School for anyone needing to obtain their GED. The classes are free, Monday thru Friday, and are planned around each individual students pace. In addition, Glenwood has partnered with Coosa Valley Technical College to offer The North Floyd Early Learning Center this year.  The program is for GED students who have children ages 6 weeks to 4 year olds. This program allows a child to begin early childhood classes, while the child’s parent is working to obtain a GED. For more information, contact Tina Black at 706-236-1855.
  • Pepperell Primary: (all day) - The Pre-K students will visit Sparkles. Contact Sandra Harper, Pre-K Resource Coordinator at 706.236.1835

Tuesday, May 13th:

  • FCS System: (Mall hours) - Floyd County Schools Art Show at Mount Berry Square Mall. Pre-K thru 12th grade student artwork will be on display through Saturday, May 17, representing all 19 of our schools.
  • Armuchee Middle: PRIDE Reward Luncheon at Chili's Restaurant
  • Armuchee High: (7:00 p.m.) - Spring Chorus Concert
  • Coosa High: (7:00 p.m.) - Coosa High School Choirs present:  A Night of Rock and Roll. - Fifty-eight students will be singing and dancing their way through the decades, from the 50's to the present. This is a 60 minute high powered performance featuring the music of Queen, The Who, Kelly Pickler, and many more. The will take place in the school auditorium and admission is: $2 for adults, $1 for students, and children under 5 free.
  • Pepperell High: (8:30 a.m.) - Freshman Awards Assembly
    (10:00 a.m.) - Junior Awards Assembly

Wednesday, May 14th:

  • Alto Park Elementary: (12:30 p.m.) - The school is honoring Coosa High School Class of 2008 graduates with a luncheon in the Media Center.
  • Armuchee High : (7:00 a.m.) - School Council Meeting
  • Armuchee Middle: (8:15 a.m.) - 8th Grade Breakfast. After students will enjoy the 8th grade Field Day
  • Coosa Middle: (9:00 - 1:00 p.m.) - 8th grade History Day - Students will give presentations about their selected history projects.  Topics will range from the time period of the 1950’s to the present.  
  • Pepperell Elementary: (morning) - Career Day – Community members will share information about various careers.
  • Pepperell High: (9:00 a.m.) - Freshman Awards Assembly

Thursday, May 15th:

  • FCS System: (6:00 - 7:00 p.m.) - Meet the Art Teacher Night - Parents can meet their school's art teacher while looking at their child's art at the Floyd County Schools Art Show at Mount Berry Square Mall.
  • Armuchee High: (6:30 p.m.) - Honors Night for the Underclass and Seniors in the auditorium.
  • Armuchee Middle: (all day) - 8th Grade Parent Shadow Day
    (10:00 a.m.) - 6th Grade Awards                  
    (12:00 noon) - 7th Grade Awards
    (3:30 - 5:00 p.m.) - AMS Chorus Rehearsal                  
  • Pepperell High: (7:00 p.m.) - Senior Awards Assembly in the school auditorium.
  • Pepperell Primary: (6:00 p.m.) - Pre-K "Dinner with Dad " Night in the school cafeteria.
  • Coosa High:  (7:00 p.m.) Senior Honor Awards will be held in the school auditorium
  • Model High:  (7:00 p.m.) Senior Honor Awards will be held in the school auditorium

Friday, May 16th:

  • Alto Park Elementary: (12:30 p.m.) - End-of-the-Year Kindergarten Program will take place in the school gymnasium. Parents and families are invited.
  • Armuchee Elementary: (all day) - Field Day  - There will be a 5th grade vs. Teachers Volleyball game in the afternoon.
  • Armuchee Middle: (8:15 a.m.) - 8th Grade Awards
    (6:30 p.m.) - Band Banquet in Lunchroom
  • Coosa Middle: (8:30 - 3:00 p.m.) - EagleFest - The students will compete in various activities and games.
  • Garden Lakes Elementary: (8:00 a.m.) - School Council Meeting
  • Johnson Elementary: (8:30 - 11:00 p.m.) - Field Day will take place on the school playground. The Annual Tug-of-War will begin at 2:00 p.m. in the school gym.
  • Pepperell Elementary:  (all day) - Field Day - The students will compete in various activities and games.
  • Pepperell Primary: (9:00 - 2:30 p.m.) - Kindergarten students will visit CiCi's Pizza and Ridge Ferry Park - Parents are welcome to join their child at the park around 11:45 a.m.
