Monday, February 6:
- Armuchee Elementary: (2:45 - 4:00 p.m.) - Honor Chorus students will practice in the music room.
- Model Middle: (8:00 - 3:00 p.m.) - Book Fair Begins - The book fair begins today and will continue through Friday. Special hours on Friday will be 7:30 - 8:00 a.m. and 3:30 - 5:30 p.m.
Tuesday, February 7:
- Floyd County Charter System: Progress Reports
Wednesday, February 8:
- Armuchee Elementary: (3:15 - 4:30 p.m.) - Scrabble Club for 4th and 5th grade student members
- Armuchee High: (7:00 a.m.) - Local School Governance Team (LSGT) Meeting - The team members will meet in the school conference room.
- Model High: (7:30 a.m.) - Local School Governance Team (LSGT) Meeting - The team members will meet at the school.
Thursday, February 9:
- Floyd County Charter System: (6:00 p.m. - until) – Floyd County Board of Education regular public meeting for February. The board will participate in meeting with the Local School Coordinating Council (LSCC) at 4:30 p.m. The LSCC is made up of two members of each Local School Governance Team. The regular caucus will begin at 6:00 p.m. and the public meeting will be at 7:00 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
- Armuchee Elementary: (3:00 - 4:30 p.m.) - Odyssey of the Mind Team Practice - Odyssey of the Mind is a creativity competition. Armuchee Elementary school has two teams that will compete in the regional competition in March 2012.
- Cave Spring Elementary: (11:30 - 1:00 p.m.) -
The "Annual Pinto Bean Luncheon" - The luncheon is held to show the school’s appreciation for the community's support.
- Garden Lakes Elementary: (7:30 a.m.) - Local School Governance Team (LSGT) Meeting - The team members will meet in the school parent center.
- Model High: (10:30 a.m.) - STAR Student/Teacher & National Honor Society Induction
Friday, February 10:
- Floyd County Charter System: (8:00 a.m.) - Floyd County Spelling Bee - The top spellers in grades four through eight will compete in the spell-off. The spelling bee will take place in the Board Room at the Board of Education's Central Office on Riverside Parkway.
- Coosa Middle: (all day) - The 8th grade students will tour the College & Career Academy to see programs that will be available to them in high school.
- McHenry Primary: (all day) - Jump Rope for Heart - The 1st - 3rd grade students will participate during their activity block. February is National Heart month and students at McHenry will be learning "heart healthy" facts throughout the month.
- Midway Primary: (7:15 - 8:00 a.m.) - Donuts for Dads - Dads, granddads, and other special people are invited to breakfast with their child.
- Model Elementary: (all day) - Hat Day - Hat Day is a fundraiser in which students pay $1.00 for a color dot sticker to go on their hat. The person who wears the most unusual hat gets a prize from the library, with the choice of either a book or poster. The proceeds help the library in purchasing new books and/or current educational items.
- Model Middle: (3:30 - 5:30 p.m.) - PBIS Valentine's Dance -The dance will take place after-school in the cafeteria. This is part of the school’s positive behavior program.
