Children need to stay active and engaged in learning during the summer.  That is particularly important to the active mind of the gifted child.  Floyd County Schools and Berry College are coming to the rescue with a summer camp designed for gifted students who will be in third to eighth grade next school year.  The have teamed up once again to offer the Viking Explorations Camp at Berry College.

Classes at the camp will include Outdoor Leadership, Chess Masters, Improv, STEM, Aquatic Habitats, Kitchen Chemistry and more.  Participants choose two classes to participate in during the week with class sessions from 8:30 to 10 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. to noon.
The camp will take place July 11-15 and will run from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon.  It is not too late to get your child in for the program this year.  Late registration is open now through June 27, 2016.  The cost for late registration is $150.
Registration is available online on the Berry College website at Viking Explorations at Berry College. A credit card will be required to complete registration on the website. The website will also have a complete list of courses available with a detailed description. The classes will be taught by instructors with a gifted/talented endorsement from Floyd County Schools, teachers from Berry College Elementary or from Berry Middle School. Materials and supplies will be provided and are included in the price of the camp.
