Brian VincentPepperell High’s Brian Vincent turned in his best performance of the season taking the boy’s individual title and advancing to state with this win at the Region Championships held at Georgia Highlands College on Wednesday.  Vincent was in a back-and-forth battle with Model’s Christian Stevens but the Dragon’s super sophomore pulled away in the last mile to take the individual crown.  Pepperell’s Joey Purser ran to a sixth place finish to also qualify for state.  Vincent and Purser paced the Dragons team to a third place finish in the meet.   In the girls race, Pepperell’s Savannah Barnett pushed two time region champion Cheyenne Porter from Chattooga all the way to the finish.  Barnett provided plenty of drama before the race was completed as she finished in second place – just ll seconds behind the winner in the 3.1-mile run.

The Dragon’s boys team and individual runners Brian Vincent, Joey Purser and Savannah Barnett will all advance
to the Class AA State meet to be held on Nov. 9th in Carrollton.
