Junior wins Essay Contest
PHS junior, Abby Green, wins essay contest

Abby Green, a junior at Pepperell High School has won the local competition of The National Society of The Colonial Dames of America essay contest. Each year The Society through the National Patriotic Service Committee holds an essay contest for high school students. Three winners are selected from each state to participate in the Washington Workshops Foundation week long Congressional Seminar in Washington, D.C. 

Each Town Committee also selects a local winner and this year awarded Green a $50 prize and certificate. This year the topic of the essay was "Over the course of American History, which American leader has provided the greatest visionary leadership?" The Rome Town Committee received 22 essays in this year’s contest.
