Model High senior named Exchange Club Student of the Year

Jeffery Rice, a senior at Model High School, has been chosen as the 2009 Rome Exchange Club Student of the Year. Rice was selected for the honor at a recent Exchange Club meeting. Rice received a plaque and a $100 scholarship from the Exchange Club. He will now compete in the District Exchange Club Student of the Year recognition to be held in June.

Rice is very active at Model High. He has a 4.0 grade point average. He played varsity football and was on the track team. Rice was recently voted “Most Likely to Succeed” by his class at Model. 

Rice plans to attend college and would like to be a pediatrician some day. His dream for the future is to help little kids and the future of our country. Rice has been offered a full scholarship at Shorter College but he is also considering Princeton, Harvard, Duke, Vanderbilt and Emory. He plans to major in pre-med.
