The Armuchee High School Spirit Squad Cheerleaders, coached by Jessica Rich, won a contest this week to be named the official cheerleading squad for the FANtastic pep rally on Friday, December 17 for the NAIA Championship Game kickoff. The Armuchee cheerleaders designed a winning banner to take the contest. There were a number of banners entered in the contest and all of the banners will are displayed downtown. The winning banner may also be seen on TV and in sports magazines. The purpose of the banner contest was to help welcome the two schools in the big NAIA football game.

The AHS cheerleaders will be performing at the NAIA Championship Pep Rally that will be held Friday night outside the Forum from 8:00 p.m. -9:00 p.m. You can see a picture of the banner in the Rome-News Tribune, or take a walk on Broad Street and see it hanging in the window of the old McCrobie’s location. You can also get involved by attending the pep rally on Friday. The AHS cheerleaders invite you to come out and support them and welcome the two teams to Rome this weekend!

The NAIA Championship football game featuring the University of Sioux Falls and Carroll College will be held at Barron Stadium this Saturday with kickoff at 4:30 p.m. This will be the third time the NAIA Championship has been played at Barron Stadium and the second appearance by Sioux Falls and Carroll.
