CHS power failure
Coosa High closing early today due to a power failure
Posted on 08/09/2010
Coosa High School will be closing at 1:00 p.m today due to a transformer power failure near the school. All parents may pick-up their children today after 1:00 p.m. Students have been allowed to contact parents for pick-up and those driving to school have been allowed to leave. An emergency message has been sent to parent to inform them that they can pick-up their child this afternoon. If a parent is not able to pick-up a child, there is an area of the school with power and air conditioning and students can stay and ride the bus on the normal schedule.

Georgia Power has identified the power outage as a transformer problem. A new transformer will have to be installed this evening. Georgia Power anticipates having the problem corrected later this evening and school will not be impacted tomorrow at Coosa High.
