Kayla Rampley, a senior at Pepperell High School, has designed the cover art for the spring 2010 edition of Tomorrow’s Business Leader, the Future Business Leaders of America quarterly magazine. Rampley was asked to create the cover art for the national publication by the national FBLA office in Reston, Virginia, after the office reviewed a mock–up design she had to create as part of her America level requirements of FBLA’s Business Achievement Award program. The Business Achievement Awards (BAA) is an aggressive, self-directed, results-based business and leadership program designed to compliment academics while accelerating a student's leadership skills. The individual recognition is a four-tier program aligned with the FBLA-PBL Goals, NBEA Standards, and Career Clusters. The BAA has four distinct award levels-Future, Business, Leader, and America. The America level is the highest level of this award program; less than 1% of Georgia FBLA members achieve this award per year.

Jane Jacobs, Communications Manager for FBLA, contacted. Rampley about her mock-up concept and asked her to create a cover for the spring 2010 issue. She used her concept of a magnifying glass emphasizing the upcoming National Leadership Conference in Nashville, while also depicting scenes of Nashville itself. Rampley used Photoshop Elements to create an image that resembled a stack of postcards depicting famous Nashville landmarks with the 2010 National Leadership Conference theme of “Simply the Best” being highlighted. She obtained permission and access to the landmark images from Nashville Convention and Visitors Bureau. Rampley was given credit for the cover with a photo a brief bio at the bottom of page two of the magazine.

Rampley has been an active member of the Pepperell chapter of Future Business Leaders of America for the past three years. This year she has served as the FBLA Georgia State Reporter. She will be attending her 3rd consecutive National Leadership Conference this summer where she will be awarded the America Level Business Achievement Award.
