This is the image for the news article titled Superintendent responds to state regarding charter statusDr. Jeff McDaniel, superintendent of Floyd County Schools has sent a letter to the Charter Committee of the State Board of Education in response to the states recent letter which seemed to dictate the direction the state wants the school system to take in class scheduling for next year.  The letter questions the intent of charter if the state is to dictate such local system decisions as scheduling.

There is a good article in the Rome News Tribune today (read article) about the letter and the recent state involvement in local school system decisions without visiting our schools or talking with system administrators or local governance members to get an accurate picture of charter system activities in Floyd County Schools.

Read the entire letter from Dr. McDaniel.
