Model High Softball Player Shares Area Player of the Year Honors

Stacia Williams, a senior at Model High School, has been named a Co-Player of the Year on the Rome News Tribune All-Area Softball Team. Williams played shortstop for the Model Blue Devils and led the team offensively and defensively to garner recognition as one of the best players in the area. Williams has been a four-year starter for Model and finished strong with a batting average of .471, 33 hits, 16 RBI, 10 stolen bases, and only three strikeouts this season. 

Williams has earned impressive accolades during her athletic career at Model High School. She was named All-Area as a sophomore, junior and senior; she was Model MVP her sophomore and senior seasons; and Best Offensive Player as a junior. She finished her career with a .389 batting average and only 16 strikeouts over her four years of competition. Williams has verbally committed to continue her softball career as a student athlete at Young Harris College.

Stacia Williams is an honor roll student at Model High School with a 3.3 GPA. She was the 2011 Miss Model 2nd Runner Up, on the 2009 Model Homecoming Court, the manager of the Model baseball team and on the Model yearbook staff.
