The Rome News Reader’s Choice Awards are selected by votes of the newspaper’s readers. Each year the Rome News-Tribune gives readers the chance to deciding the “Best in Town” in several categories. There are over 100 categories in the Reader’s Choice Awards from Best Hardware Store to Best Caterer. Rome News readers could clip voting ballots from the Sunday or Monday editions of the paper over a three week period to submit votes.

Floyd County Schools’ representatives took five of the six spots voted on in the area of education. Of the three education categories, a Floyd County Schools representative finished first in all three and was the runner-up in two of the three categories.
