Stephanie Barwick, a senior at Pepperell High School, has won the state title in the Georgia FFA State Job Interview Career Development Event. The interview competition state finals were held on Saturday, December 3 at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton, Georgia.

The Job Interview Career Development Event is a competitive activity that tests a student’s abilities to perform effectively throughout the entire job application process. The participants prepare a resume with a cover letter and complete a written application. They also participate in panel job interviews and compose follow-up letters as part of the competition. Barwick competed against eleven other state finalists in the state finals at Abraham Baldwin.

Barwick will travel to the 84th National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana, next October to represent Georgia and compete in the National Job Interview Career Development Event. Ms. Barwick is currently serving as the PHS FFA vice-president and Area I secretary.

There are more than 500,000 FFA members nationwide. The Georgia Association has more than 30,000 members, making it the 3rd largest Association in the nation. The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success, through agricultural education.
