Nine students from Floyd County middle and high schools have been selected to participate in the Georgia Music Educator’s Association All State Chorus for 2012. Chorus students from Armuchee Middle, Armuchee High, Coosa Middle and Pepperell High will represent Floyd County at the gathering of the best musical talent in the state held annually in Savannah this week. This year’s event will be held February 23 - 25.

Students selected from Floyd County are: Kallie Cothran, Rachel McCurry and Kimberlee Miller from Armuchee Middle School; Marley Bostick and Mason Dillard from Armuchee High School; Ali McFarland, Charlie Meeks and Samantha Warner from Coosa Middle School; and Caleb Cole from Pepperell High School. These students are among a very select group of choral performers brought together for the purpose of rehearsing and performing selected music with guest conductors. Students are selected through auditions where they are scored on intonation, rhythmic accuracy, pitch accuracy, vocal tone quality, diction and musicality.
