Pepperell Elementary

Pepperell Elementary was built in 1998 in the community of Lindale. It was formed from three independent school communities. Students in grades 4 and 5 from McHenry Primary, Midway Primary, and Pepperell Primary, were all sent to the newly built school in order to form a consolidation.

Pepperell Elementary was established as a result of a population expansion in the elementary grade student population in the Lindale area that was served by the three schools listed above. Many of the students were being taught in modular units. In the fall of 1998, in order to provide a smaller student to building ratio, the 4th and 5th grade students were moved to the new Pepperell Elementary.

Pepperell Elementary gained its name from Pepperell Manufacturing Company which was once located in the area. Renamed Greenwood Mills, a producer of denim, it provided the majority of jobs in the Lindale area until it was downsized in late 1999.
