Mobley Park

Mobley Park was an Elementary school in the Mobley Park district, part of what is now known as the Pepperell school district. The school was started in the home of Mrs. Mamie McHenry. After rapid expansion, McHenry approached The Floyd County Board of Education in order to address the need for a school to serve the Mobley Park district. The Board advised her to merge the east end of a neighboring school district, and her Mobley Park Elementary school at a central location. The school was renamed McHenry a year after its opening in honor of its founding teacher.
