Alumni and/or recent graduates will need to submit a transcript request form to the Floyd County Board of Education.

How can I get a certificate of attendance during the summer?
Students can get a certificate of attendance at the Floyd County Board of Education's central office at 600 Riverside Parkway, Rome Georgia. There is a fee of $5.00 for requests made during the summer break.

Do Elementary/Primary schools offer Pre-K classes?
Yes, all primary schools and elementary schools in the Coosa and Model districts offer Pre-K classes. Pre-K sites and the number of classes at each site are: Alto Park Elementary (2 classes), Cave Spring Elementary (1 class), Garden Lakes Elementary (2 classes), Glenwood Primary (4 classes), Johnson Elementary (2 classes), McHenry Primary (2 classes), Midway Primary (2 classes), Model Elementary (2 classes), and Pepperell Primary (2 classes).

Are your schools accredited?
Floyd County Schools earned system accreditation from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). Continued accreditation involves periodic reevaluation by committees of outside educators as well as self-study by the principal, school staff, parents and the community.

When are report cards sent home?
All students (grades 1-12) receive report cards every nine weeks.

What grading system do you use?
Kindergarten students are evaluated during the year to determine their readiness for first grade. All other grades use the following grading system:

At what age will my child start school?
To enter a Georgia Pre-kindergarten program, eligible students must be four by September 1. To enter a Georgia public kindergarten, students must be five by September 1, and to enter first grade, students must be six by September 1. (You may call the Pre-K program at 706.234.1031 for eligibility requirements.)

What information must I provide to register my child in school for the first time?
Requirements for registration:
Parent or legal guardian must accompany enrolling student
Immunization Certificate
Eye/ear/dental Certificate
Birth Certificate/SSN card
Proof of Residency (a current official utility bill that shows name and address)
Record from previous school, if available

What can I do if my child must be out of school for an extended amount of time?
Upon meeting the requirements, students may eligible for the Hospital/Home-bound Program.
