Congratulations
to Mrs. Lewis for winning the Coosa
River Basic
Initiative Environmental Educator Award.
Congratulations
to Carissa Sutton and Katie Towe for placing 6th in Desktop
Publishing at the FBLA Region Competition last night at Ringgold High School.
Carissa and Katie have qualified for the state competition in Atlanta in March.
The academic
decathlon team needs to meet after school in Coach Joe Agan’s room THIS
AFTERNOON at 3:30 PM to do a practice login for the state essay.
The actual essay will be in Coach Agan’s room after school on Monday,
Feb. 6, 2012. All members of the team including the alternates MUST
be at the practice login and the actual essay.
We have 2 new
apprenticeships available with F and P Georgia. If you are
interested in Human Resources, Business, Industry Academy,
or Metal Working, please see Mrs. Jarvis.
The girls soccer
team will meet in Coach Couch’s Room at 3:30 before going to practice
this afternoon.
GEMA and the National Weather Service have
designated next Wednesday, February 8, 2011, as the State of Georgia's
day for the statewide tornado drill. If there is a threat of severe
weather on February 8, the drill will be held Friday, February 10.
Coosa High will have our computer lab FAFSA
assistance night for seniors and their parents on Tuesday, Feb. 28th
from 5:30 to 7:30.
Students may now
register for Driver’s Education Classes to be held during Spring
Intersession. Please come by the front office for a registration form.
Seniors who have
completed 100 hours of community service need to turn in their community
service forms to Mrs. Whitfield by March 1st. Students
who do not turn in their forms on time will not receive community service
cords.
Orders for
Valentine Candy Grams, suckers and ring pop bags will be on sale in the
cafeteria Wednesday, Feb. 8th through Monday, Feb. 13th.
Purchased items will be delivered on Valentine's Day. See any Jr.
Optimist Club member to order your Valentine gifts or stop by the
Valentine table during lunch.
There will be a Valentine Bake Sale
Tuesday, Feb. 14th in the front lobby. Items will range from 50
cents to $2.
Any student who
plans to take an AP test must pay the $13 deposit per test to Mrs.
Whitfield no later than March 2nd. Tests can’t be
ordered until the deposit is paid.
Any girl interested
in playing volleyball next fall needs to sign up on Coach Kate Ross’s
door this week.
January time
sheets are now available for pick up from Coach Agan’s door. These
are due by next Wednesday, February
8th. This is a test grade. Failure to turn
this in will greatly impact your grade and could result in your dismissal
from the OJT Program of Coosa
High School.
Seniors who
missed the Senior Meeting on Wednesday should pick up the information in
the front office.
We need Alyson Bridges to the office.
