About our Academy

The Freshman Academy was developed to help incoming ninth graders make a successful transition from middle school to high school. High school can often come as a shock to many students who expect it to be just like the past three years had been for them. The Academy, with its core group of teachers, High School 101 classes, and close communication, helps to bridge the gap for the students and prepare them for the next three years and beyond.  

Like all classes, this group of Freshman was very unique with the mixed personalities and interest that they have. The teachers worked to learn how to best communicate with and educate the students, and the students worked to understand what is expected of them for the next four years. Only the upcoming years will tell how much this group really grew an learned in the Freshman Academy, and the bar is set high from the class of 2012, but expectations for this group from their teachers are high and have been made known.
