Zach
Morrison Named Head Wrestling Coach
 With the departure of Will Stansell, Zach Morrison was named by Principal Sam
Sprewell and A.D. Chad Perry as the new wrestling coach. Morrison, a native of Cummings, Georgia was
a football and wrestling standout at Forsyth Central High School. He later became one of Shorter College’s
first football All Americans. He
currently teaches Civics, is and assistant football coach, and resides in
Rome. Zach hopes to bring his commitment to winning the right way to Coosa’s
traditional strong wrestling program.
While the Eagles have not placed well in
team competition over the last decade, they have placed several wrestlers in
the state tournament. Through hard
work and conditioning, Coach Morrison plans on taking the team to the state
tournament in the foreseeable future.
NEW
GYMNASIUM AND SCIENCE WING UNDER CONSTRUCTION
As a result of the success of the
latest SPLOST referendum, construction has begun on the new annex gymnasium
and new science wings. The new
gymnasium will be utilized for Physical Education classes, Cheerleading, Wrestling,
and other sports uses.
