Boys Team Finishes 13th in
State
Team Dedicates Meet to Lee Studdard
The Boys Cross Country team finished
13th at the State Cross Country Meet Saturday, Nov. 8th at Carrollton. Hylton Hamilton
finished 46th, Nic Castrejon 54th, Steven
Walters 97th, Dent Watson 109th with
another new personal best time of 19:48, Caleb Sayid
was 122nd, while Garon Osborne finished 146th and
Patrick Blankenship came in at 161st out of 275 state meet qualifiers. The team did exceptionally well this year
finishing 3rd in Region 7AA. With several sophomore and freshmen of the top
runners coming back, the team has the potential to go further next
year. The team will graduate 4th
year runner Nic Castrejon, and both Lee Studdards, and Carlos Cruz. The team was without Lee Studdards, one of the top five runners, who tragically
lost his dad in a fatal work-related accident. The team dedicated the State
Meet race to Lee.
