February 7th:Jamboree at CHS

Mini Game 1-Coosa defeated Armuchee 1-0, goal by Roy Burkhalter, Alfredo Fonseca had 3saves in goal.

Mini Game 2-Coosa B team tied Adairsville 0-0George Galvis had 4 saves in goal.

Mini Game 3-Coosa defeated Armuchee 4-1, 2 Goals by Noberto Castenada, 1 goal by Daniel Cruz, 1 Goal by George Galvis, Janarys McNutt had 4 saves in goal.

Mini Game 4-Coosa defeated Adairsville 2-0, 1 goal was scored by George Galvis, 1 goal was scored by Daniel Cruz.Galvis had 3 saves, McNutt 2 saves in goal.

February 17th: Coosa v. Chattooga (Rome News-Tribune)

Coosa 6, Chattooga 1 

The Eagles got their season started on the right foot, beating the Indians in Summerville in a match that was shortened to 55 minutes due to weather conditions. Roy Burkhalter registered a hat trick, with two coming on penalty kick and another coming off a pass from Robert Byers. Norberto Castenada, Rodrigo Cruz and George Galvis also had goals, with Hong Gee Lee and Daniel Cruz picking up assists. Pedro Castro had the lone goal for Chattooga (0-1).

Feb. 19, 2004 Ft. Payne 2, Coosa 1
Coosa played one of their greatest games ever but came up short against Fort Payne, Al. .  Fort Payne, ranked #3 in AAAA (Alabama) came out strong but CHS goalkeeper Jorge Galvis helped keep them at bay with 20 saves.  Rodrigo Cruz scored the Eagles lone goal after Alfredo Fonseca delivered a great pass from the wing.  Fort Payne went ahead with 20 minutes remaining on a penalty kick.

Feb. 25, 2004   Villa Rica 4, Coosa 0

Villa Rica 4, Coosa 0 Despite 16 saves by keeper George Galvis, the Eagles dropped a non-area road match and fell to 1-2 on the season. Coosa, which beat Villa Rica 7-1 last season will play Adairsville next.n,

Coosa’s boys soccer team ran its record to 2-2 with a victory at Adairsville on Tuesday. Norberto Castenada finished with three goals and three assists, while Rodrigo Cruz, Carlos Escalona, Ruben Delgado and Hong Gee Lee netted one goal each. Galvis had 4 saves o

March 10th, 2004

Northwest Whitfied came to play in the first round of the Rome Tournament and defeated Coosa 4-0.  Jorge Galvis had 14 saves.  The halftime score was 1-0 and Coosa actually took more shots on goal.

March 12th, 2004

Coosa stuns AAAA Ringgold 1-0 on a 36 yard goal by Roy Burkhalter.  Galvis had 18 saves.

March 13th, 2004

Coosa looses 2-0 to Model in a well played defensive game.  Carlos Escalona led the defense while Galvis recorded 14 saves.

March 23,2004  TEAMS 100th WIN

Coosa upset a very good East Paulding team, 1-0.  This was the 100TH   win in the history of the program.  Rodrigo Cruz scored the goal after Roy Burkhalter’s long throw was headed toward  him by Noberto Castenda in the 47th minute.  Coosa’s defense led by Senior Will Watkins did an outstanding job with Robert Byers, Carlos Escalona, Raul Fuentes and Zach Fergusen contributing with big takeaways and saves.  Jorge Galvis had a great game in goal with 22 saves.

March 25, 2004

Coosa defeated by Cass 3-0, Galvis had 12 saves in an otherwise disappointing performance by the team.

April 1st, 2004 Coach Vice’s 100th Win

Coosa defeats Adairsville 4-0 off 3 goals by Rodrigo Cruz and 1 by Hong Gee Lee.  This game was Coach Vice’s 100th personal win. Galvis had 2 saves.

April 6th, 2004 Coosa defeats Armuchee 7-1

Paced by four goals from Rodrigo Cruz, the Eagles streaked past Armuchee to remain perfect in area play. Frank Castro, Leslie Smith, and Hong Gee Lee added one goal each for Coosa (6-4, 3-0). Ruben Delgado had two assists in the win, while Roy Burkhalter, Noberto Castenada, George Galvis and Lee added one ssist each. Galvis had four saves for Coosa, whi

April 8th, 2004  Coosa falls to Model 5-0

In spite of 21 saves by Goalkeeper Jorge Galvis, Coosa fell to 7th Ranked Model 5-0 at Model.

April 13th, 2004  Coosa 2, Armuchee 0

Hong Gee Lee and Rodrigo Cruz scored one goal apiece while Galvis had two saves in goal to knotch Coosa’s spot in the Area Playoffs.

April 15th, 2004  Coosa 0, Darlington 1

Jorge Galvis had 28 saves but the Eagles fell 1-0 to 10th ranked Darlington in a well played defensive game.

April 16th, 2004  Coosa 0, Calhoun 0

A stingy Coosa defense plus 16 saves by Galvis resulted in a 0-0 tie with 7th Ranked Calhoun.

April 20th, 2004  Area Tournament Playoffs   Model 2, Coosa 0

7th ranked Model scored two penalty kick goals to down the Eagles 2-0 in playoff action.  Galvis had 24 saves in goal.
