Weekly Update

February 14, 1999...Calhoun Jamboree....Coosa H.S.
played three mini-games. Three different lineups were used with 33
players seeing playing time. Gordon-Central defeated Coosa 1-0, Lafayette
defeated Coosa 1-0, and Calhoun defeated Coosa 3-1. Austin Gattenby
scored Coosa's goal in the Calhoun game.
Thursday, February 18,
1999 at Trion.... Coosa wins 6-1 on 2 goals by Austin Gattenby, 1 by Marco
Galvan, 2 by Tim Davis and 1 by Corey McAdams. Kris Reyes, Marco Galvan, and
Brock Coogler all had assists.
Tuesday, February 23, at
Murray County... Coosa wins 6-1. Austin Gattenby had 1 goal, Marco Galvan 3
goals, and Saul Limon 2 goals. Gattenby, Galvan, and Justin Barnett all had assists.
Tuesday, March 2 at
Lafayette... Coosa wins 1-0. Marco Galvan scored an unassisted goal in the 68th
minute. David Gaudreau had 17 saves in goal.
Thursday, March 4, at
Chattooga....Coosa wins 4-1. Nathan Tucker scored his first career goal off of
an assist by Tim Davis. Marco Galvan scored off of an assist from Tucker and
had another unassisted goal. Saul Limon scored the final goal off of an assist
from Kris Reyes.
March 9 ...Marco Galvan
scored one goal but the Coosa Eagles were defeated by Rome in the Seven Hills
Tournament 5-1
March 11...Coosa defeats
Chattooga at home once again by the score of 6-1..Galvan had three goals,
Gattenby one goal, McAdams one goal, and Saul Limon one goal. Kris
Reyes had 17 saves.
March 13...A illness
ridden Coosa team is defeated by Lafayette 3-1 in the 7 hills Tournament.
Brock Coogler had the lone goal for the Eagles.
March 17...Sweeper Brent
Hutchinson is ejected for an intentional handball in the penalty box. The
Eagles, forced to play with ten men lose to Cartersville 2-0.
March 19...Calhoun
defeated Coosa 5-1...Marco Galvan had the lone goal for Coosa.
March 23....Coosa defeated
by Carrollton 4-3 in Carrollton. Galvan had two goals while Time Davis
had one.
March 26......Coosa
defeated by Darlington, 8-0
March 27......Coosa
defeated Lafayette 4-1....Tim Davis had 3 goals and one assist. Marco Galvan
scored one goal and tied the school record. Austin Gattenby and Tim Davis also
had assists. Kris Reyes, Brent Hutchinson, Brock Coogler, Matt Lewis, and Justin
Barnett played excellent defense.
March 30.....Coosa
defeated Central of Carroll County 4-0.....Marco Galvan scored one goal in the
2nd minute and broke the 10 year old school record. Justin Barnett scored his
first career goal while Saul Limon added two. Brock Coogler had one assist,
Nathan Tucker two assists, and Brent Hutchinson one assist. Kris Reyes had 17
saves while David Geaudreau had 5.
April 15.....Coosa ties
Villa Rica 1-1 off of a goal by Nathan Tucker assisted by Austin Gattenby. This
eliminated Coosa from the playoffs. The teams final record was 7-6-1.
