The Pepperell High FFA Parliamentary Procedure team has advanced to the FFA state finals. Earlier in the week, the Pepperell team competed in the area contest held at Woodland High where the team finished second to Murray County.  Pepperell team chairperson, Hannah Hall stated, "Parliamentary procedure is one the hardest and most desired FFA events to win. It takes a great deal of practice, hard work, and dedication to rise to the top.”

In the Parliamentary Procedure contest, each team takes a 25 question test and conducts a 10 minute business session using an assigned set of motions, rules and abilities. Team members have one minute to review the assigned abilities before the demonstration begins. Hall said, “Early in the year we set a goal to make it to state. Now we have our sights set on Nationals." The state winner will represent Georgia in the national finals this fall at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, IN.  The Parliamentary Procedure Career Development Event is just one way FFA members can use classroom taught leadership and public speaking skills in FFA planned competitions and activities.  Team members included: Hannah Hall, Rebecca Smith, Stephanie Barwick, Ryan Duncan, Jeremy Baker, and Will Bentley.  Michael Gardner is the Pepperell High FFA Advisor.

There are over 30,000 FFA members in GA making it the third largest association.  There are just over 500,000 FFA members nationwide.  The National FFA Organization is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for Premier Leadership, Personal Growth and Career Success through agricultural education.
