Armuchee Elementary will hold the school’s 11th annual Science Fair on Monday, February 27 at 6:00 p.m. at the school.  Each fourth-grade student is required to perform an experiment and present their results during the fair.  The children have worked on their experiments in class and at home since early January.  There will be over 150 entries in with Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals presented in seven categories: Human/Behavioral Science, Physical Science, Botany, Zoology, Ecology, Consumer Science, and Earth Science.

Armuchee Elementary held two after-school workshops.  The first workshop was held in January to help the children prepare for their experiments.  The second was held in February to help them polish the presentations for the fair. Dr. Inman and 23 of his science education students, as well as the AES staff, helped with the special after school workshops. 

The Science Fair will have more than 35 judges helping to select the winning entries.  The judges will include college professors from Berry College and the University of West Georgia, science teachers from several schools in the area, outdoor education leaders from CRBI, leaders from the City of Rome, and Arrowhead Environmental Education Center, Dr. Lynn Plunkett, and 23 science education students from Dr. Duane Inman's classes at Berry College.

Winning projects in the Armuchee Elementary Science Fair will be displayed at Mt Berry Square Mall the week after the fair.
