Educating the whole child is vital to the development of quality young people.  You must include opportunities for children to advance academically, socially and physically.  That means providing the best possible environment to learn and play.  McHenry Primary is working to meet that goal for all students.  McHenry is the home school to regular education students and to a significant population of young children with disabilities.

To meet this goal, McHenry Primary is seeking a $25,000.00 grant from Pepsi to refurbish the school’s upper playground and make it handicapped accessible.  McHenry has entered their playground project in the Pepsi Refresh Project on the Internet.   In order to receive this grant, McHenry must be in the top ten schools receiving votes in the $25,000.00 category on the Pepsi Web site. To vote please go to the Web site: http://www.refresheverything.com/allchildrencanplay and vote.

To vote, you must first register for a password.  The link to register is in the bottom left corner where you click on “Sign In.”  You may vote once a day. This project is very important to the children of McHenry Primary.  You can help by spreading the word to your friends, relatives, and colleagues.  If you use Facebook or other social media sites, please post the voting opportunity to all your contacts. Voting runs through May 30. PLEASE cast your vote each day during the month of May.

McHenry needs your help.  The school’s playground project is currently ranked 115th in the $25,000 category.  The school must finish in the top ten to receive one of the grants.  Help McHenry to get all their children active – vote today.
