Tyler Manor, a student at Pepperell High School, placed at the FBLA National Leadership Conference held June 25-28 in Anaheim California. Future
Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda (FBLA-PBL), the largest and oldest
student business organization, hosted almost 8,000 participants from around the country for their Annual Conference and FBLA-PBL
Institute for Leaders.
Tyler Maner competed in Entrepreneurship at the FBLA event and brought home Eighth place. The Entrepreneurship event is a team activity
with a testing portion and a performance final round. Maner was chosen to represent Georgia as a member of the Georgia “Super
Team.” The team consisted of 3 students who scored the highest at the state FBLA Leadership Conference held in March. The
Georgia team reached the National finals by placing in the top ten on the testing portion of the event. The finals consisted of
Maner’s team presenting a solution to an entrepreneurial problem to a panel of judges. The team had 20 minutes to read the
problem, decide on a solution and develop a 7 minute presentation. The judges then had 3 minutes to ask questions based on the
team’s presentation.
Individuals, state teams, and local chapters were encouraged to compete in the nearly 60 different events representing a wide range
of activities focused on business and leadership development at the FBLA/PBL event. The winners of these highly competitive and
prestigious awards were selected from among FBLA-PBL’s membership of over 250,000 students and advisers and represent some of the
best and brightest of today’s youth.
