Armuchee Middle School and Armuchee High School recently held a Wellness Fair at Armuchee Middle for their students
and visiting students from the other schools in the area. The Wellness Fair was coordinated by special education students and teachers
at Armuchee Middle and Armuchee High.
Students held health demonstrations at 11 different health stations during the fair. The stations presented
information on a variety of health topics including how to reduce stress, exercise programs, dental care and the body’s need for
rest. Students helped to make posters and set up demonstration areas for the Wellness Fair. Special Education teachers,
Paula Bowers and Lynn Shaw of Armuchee Middle, and Anthony Segars of Armuchee High, helped the students plan the event. The school
and students also received a great deal of community support. Local dentist and chiropractors helped with the fair and donated
time to work several of the wellness stations.
The students and teachers at Armuchee Middle had over 112 self-contained special education students to sign-up and
participate in the Wellness Fair.
