The
Pepperell High Dragon football team has garnered state-wide
attention with its No. 3 ranking in Class AA in Georgia and
this week the Coosa High Eagles join them in the spotlight. This
week’s 7-AA game between the Dragons and the Eagles at
Coosa High School will be the featured game of the week for
Georgia Public Broadcasting. The 7-AA subregion matchup
will be streamed live over the Georgia Public Broadcasting
(GPB) website at www.gpb.org/football . Local business
Logical System, Inc. is helping to make the GPB broadcast possible
by running an Ethernet cable to the Coosa High School Press
Box to accommodate the signal for sending the game to the website. The
game will also be aired locally on the radio on FM 95.3 WSRM
over the Pepperell Dragon Radio Network sponsored by the Pepperell
Dragon Club.
Students will also get involved
and receive professional experience in the broadcasting field
as a part of the athletic event. Students
in the Coosa High Technology Students Association (TSA) will
provide production assistance to the GPB crew during the football
game. The Coosa group has worked with GPB for the past
11 years to help broadcast the Georgia football playoffs from
the Georgia Dome. On the radio side, Pepperell’s
Luke Brannon, a student in the Radio and Television Production
class at Pepperell has been working with the radio broadcast
for Pepperell games this year. Luke produces radio reports
about programs at PHS that are played during the half-time
show of each PHS football broadcast.
The Pepperell
Dragons will also be a featured team on the Georgia Public
Broadcasting show Prep Sports + this
week. The Prep Sports + segments will
air during the shows on GPB on Thursday, October 23 at 7:30
p.m.; Saturday, October 25 at 11:00 a.m.; and Sunday, October
