Angela Little, a senior at Coosa High School, is this week’s Academic Athlete of the Week on the high school sports program Prep Sports Plus on Georgia Public Broadcasting.  The show aired on GPB and hosted by Tom Vardase, highlights high school sports across the state.  The shows featuring Angela will air Saturday at 11:00 a.m. and Sunday at 12:30 p.m. on GPB.

Angela Little is not only a top athlete but she is also a top academic performer at Coosa High.  She has a 3.5 GPA while taking a very demanding advanced class load.  She has taken an impressive list of AP and Honors Classes during her career including:  AP Language/Composition, AP Calculus, AP US History, and is currently taking AP Statistics and AP Literature.  She is in the Floyd County Schools Honors Prep program and will be eligible for an Honors Seal upon graduation.

On the athletic side, She participates in Softball and Basketball and Coosa High.  She is also a leader in the CHS Fellowship of Christian Athletes organization. Angela has played varsity basketball for the Lady Eagles the past 3 seasons.  The 2007 – 08 Coosa High School team advanced to the Elite 8 in the state playoffs.  She has been a four-year standout performer on the CHS softball team with a career batting average of .351.

Little is also participating in the Floyd County Schools Youth Apprenticeship Program this year.  She plans to pursue a teaching career and is working as an apprentice with middle school students in the physical education program at Coosa Middle School.
