Mrs. Elizabeth Bartlett, a fourth-grade teacher at Cave
Spring Elementary School, has been awarded a technology grant
from the Georgia Power Foundation. Georgia Power representatives Curtis
Hart and Anne Kaiser visited Mrs. Bartlett’s classroom
to present the grant to the teacher and her class. Joining
Hart and Kaiser were: Floyd County Schools Superintendent Dr.
Lynn Plunkett, Cave Spring Elementary Assistant Principal Trina
Self, and Cave Spring Principal Susan Childers.
Mrs.
Bartlett will use the $1,000 grant toward the purchase
an interactive white board, commonly known as a “SmartBoard,” for
her classroom. The interactive white board allows the teacher
to not only write on the board but also to project video, a computer’s
desktop image and information Internet websites onto the board
for classroom instruction.
