Model Middle School has been invited to participate in a state round table discussion to improve student performance in math.  Model was selected for their recent success on the CRCT.

David Tucker, principal of Model Middle, and Robin Upton, an eighth grade teacher at Model Middle, have been asked to join the Georgia Department of Education's Division of Standards, Instruction, and Assessment in a round table discussion on Monday, July 7, 2008 at 9:00 a.m.

According to an invitation from Dr. Martha Reichrath, The discussion provides an opportunity for Model Middle to be recognized for the school’s accomplishment and to involve Model representatives in a conversation with other high performing schools across the state to share specific practices which made their achievement a reality.  Reichrath wrote, “Your input will provide the Department of Education with recommendations for Georgia middle schools as they seek to improve GPS instruction and thereby improve their students’ performance on the 2009 CRCT.”

The round table discussion will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. in the State Board Room in Atlanta. The Board Room is located on the 20th floor of the East Tower.
