A PHS graduate has found success in the high tech world of Silicon Valley and is returning to Pepperell to share his story with high school students.  Michael Newman, a 1987 graduate of Pepperell High School will talk with students in PHS business and AP classes at 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 31, 2007.  

After graduating from PHS, Newman attended the US Air Force Academy and majored in Engineering Mechanics.  He graduated with honors in 1991 and entering the Air Force as a 2^nd Lieutenant.  Newman's active duty career included flight training in Phoenix, AZ and advanced Space & Missile Systems program management in Los Angeles and Sunnyvale, CA He attained the rank of Captain in the Air Force. While in Sunnyvale, Newman completed a distance learning Masters program from Georgia Tech in Industrial & Systems Engineering.  During this program, the excitement and infancy of the internet drew him into Silicon Valley's software industry where he has spent the last 11 years.  In that time, Newman has played a leading role for several industry leaders including his current employer, Adobe Systems, Inc.
