Denver Harris, a fifth-grade student at Johnson Elementary, has won the district competition in the Modern Woodmen of America speech contest.  Denver was awarded $50.00 and a trophy.

The Modern Woodmen of America speech contest consisted of grades five through eight at the district level.  The topic of the student’s speech was to be: A Great American Leader.  Truett Cathy, founder of Chick-fil-A, was the great American leader selected as the topic of Denver's winning speech.
