Elementary Gifted Program
Program Delivery Models

Resource Room
Curriculum: Integrated in-depth studies, acceleration, compacting GPS, learning centers, Greek and Latin, problem solving, creative thinking skills, Hands-on Equations, communication skills, and advanced research skills.
Schedule: 5 segments a week
Who Delivers: Resource Gifted Teacher
Grouping Practices: Multi-age, grade levels, content areas, or strength area- 19 students is maximum class size with waiver.
Gifted Education Resource Teachers WILL BE RESPONSIBLE for students receiving these services.  (If a student does not come to the resource room, gifted teachers must go get students!)

Cluster Grouping
Curriculum: GPS classroom content
Schedule: Only count 1 to 2 segments a day for gifted
Who Delivers: Gifted Certified Teacher
Grouping Practices: 3 or more gifted students clustered in an otherwise heterogeneous classroom.
*Teachers must complete cluster differentiation form at the beginning of the school year and/or semester. White copy is to send to the Gifted Coordinator at County Office and yellow copy is for the teacher to keep for his/her records.

Study Trips and Seminars
Curriculum: High interest areas, contests, competitions, correlated with units, competitions, in-depth mini-courses
Schedule: one-day sessions or intersessions
Who Delivers: Gifted Resource Teachers and/or Field Experts
Grouping Practices: county-wide grade level groups, individual school groups
*This delivery model is not counted for FTE or segments served.  This is just an extra curriculum model that is plugged into elementary gifted programs.

Classroom Differentiation
Curriculum: classroom content, contracts, learning center, acceleration, RTI- Tier 1 and 2 process.
Schedule: served in the regular class, gifted teacher will work with regular ed teacher to help implement differentiation strategies.
Who Delivers: Regular classroom teacher, but with guidance from gifted teacher.
Grouping Practices: individual to groups
*This delivery model is not counted for FTE or segments served.  This is just an extra curriculum step to assist students that display a need for something extra in the regular education classroom.

Middle School Gifted Program

Advanced Content
Curriculum: English/Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies and/or Science
Schedule: daily- 5 segments a week
Who delivers: Gifted Certified Teacher
Grouping Practices: all gifted students- 23 is a maximum class size with waiver

Advanced Content
Curriculum: Honors and Advanced Placement classes in the following academic areas: English/Language Arts, Mathematics Social Studies, Science, Foreign Language, Technology, Fine Arts
Schedule: daily- 5 segments a week, or every other day due to A/B schedule on a block schedule
Who Delivers: Gifted Certified Teacher and/or AP Certified Teacher
Grouping Practices: all gifted students and high achieving students- 23 is maximum class size with waiver

Cluster Grouping
Curriculum: GPS classroom content
Schedule: only count 1 to 2 segments a day for gifted
Who Delivers: Gifted Certified Teacher
Grouping Practices: 3 or more gifted students clustered in an otherwise heterogeneous classroom.

Schedule: daily in schedule
Who Delivers: Gifted certified teacher
Grouping Practices: placed with professionals in the business world
