Current Candidates running for a school LSGT
A Local School Governance Team in each school is the method the school system will use to get the community, parents and teachers involved in decision making to maximize educational opportunities for children. Each Local School Governance Team (LSGT) will seek to provide the best possible learning environment for the children in their community. The LSGT is searching for parents interested in serving on the governance team.
Local School Governance Team Members
The Governance Team is made up of the principal, 2 parents, 2 community leaders, and 2 faculty members.
Requirements
For Parents - Be a parent of a child currently enrolled in the school and eligible for a two year term.
Community Leaders - A business partner or community leader with an interest in the school.
Meeting Schedule - Attend a minimum of four meetings of the LSGT each year.
Selection Process
Parents - Elected by parents of the school.
Community Leaders - 1 appointed by the principal and 1 appointed by the LSGT.
What type decisions will the Governance Teams make?
The local teams will make meaningful decisions that will impact the education of children in our community. Decisions will include budget and staffing for local schools.
How do I get involved?
Complete the candidate form, contact your school principal and express an interest in being a member of the Local School Governance Team (LSGT). Parent elections will be held in September!
